Project Follow Up
The Project
The K5A Fornebu Station Project is a cornerstone of the Fornebubanen metro line extension, one of Norway’s most ambitious infrastructure developments. Located at Fornebu, a rapidly growing hub in Oslo, this new station is designed to enhance connectivity, reduce travel times, and support sustainable urban development in the region.
Construction of an underground metro station and base of this size has never been undertaken in Norway before. The structural framework for Fornebu Station and Base will be located beneath much of the development that others will later construct at Fornebu. The K5A contract represents the largest concrete work within the Fornebubanen project.
As part of the greater Fornebubanen initiative, the K5A project represents a bold step toward creating a more efficient and environmentally friendly public transportation system. With state-of-the-art design, advanced construction techniques, and a commitment to sustainability, this project aims to deliver a modern transport solution that benefits residents, commuters, and businesses alike.
